Custom 3D-Printed Robotics Components

- Solution: We developed a component-specific manufacturing strategy, using high-strength FDM printing with 50% infill for the critical mount and optimized lower-infill components for cost-effective production.
CAD Deziners partnered with a client to manufacture a custom iPad mounting assembly and locking components for a mobile robotics application. By assessing the functional requirements of each component, our engineering team implemented an application-specific manufacturing strategy that balanced structural performance, production efficiency, and cost.
Using FDM 3D printing with PLA, the primary mounting bracket was produced with 50% infill for enhanced strength and durability, while the locking components were manufactured with 15% infill to reduce material usage and production time without compromising functionality.
The project was completed within the client’s tight delivery schedule, supported by proactive communication and transparent project management. The result was a high-quality, production-ready solution that met the mechanical demands of the robotic system while delivering a cost-effective and efficient manufacturing outcome.
